Message Like you, I'm very curious if you find sheared rod bolts in the pan.
I don't like the fit of ARP bolts in the Z32 stock rods and use OEM bolts in this application. The factory bolts are press fit and are almost interference fit in the cap. The ARP are about a thou of clearance in the rod and the cap isn't a tight fit. YMMV. I use ARP everywhere else including rod bolts in L-series.
It isn't a quality problem, I believe it is a design problem for the Z32 application. Much like their main stud kit that IPP sold me which had reduced diameter studs for the girdle. Didn't use them either, Kyle wouldn't take them back, bought the correct full diameter shank set from CZP. Reduced diameter shanks on the main studs is a recipe for girdle, then eventually crank walk.
Please let us know what you find.
Personally, any VG I build for > 500 hp has aftermarket rods. Carillo for me personally or Pauter in my 3.1 L-series.
